User get over 1PB in 4U space, which means they can get 325% more space compared to legacy 4U front accessed storage servers. This not only feeds the appetite for building hyperscale systems with the ability to take on a lot of in-house hardware building and maintenance, but it can handle limited tasks alongside more traditional enterprise environments that handle large amounts of applications on less specialized systems.

The D51PL-4U is also a storage server which has great reliability, serviceability, availability. Its power supply and system cooling fans are redundant, so the system can retain operating even when there are slight breakdowns. Most parts of D51PL-4U are also hot-pluggable/serviceable, such as its power supply, HDD/SSD, motherboard, and system cooling fans. Users would feel the ease of substituting a FRU part for the original one and the system would still keep running. Replacing the fans can be done with only two fingers and installing HDDs in the tray can be done without any screws or tools. This saves users 90% of their time when building up their systems in comparison to HDD trays with screws. An also important patented key feature, is most of our system boards and booting SSDs can easily be removed with a simple latch.

The D51PL-4U motherboard fully employs all Broadwell PCIe lanes and rear coastline. You have 3 PCIe slots and 1 OCP slot to expand your applications and features. Basically you can get 10Gbps plus bandwidth with one PCIe x16 OCP Mezz.(Or you can adopt a 1G LOM solution if 10G plus bandwidth is not required). Another PCIe x8 slot would be occupied by 1 SAS controller card to process SAS signal and make hardware RAID and help you recognize the 102 HDDs. Another two PCIe slots provide users lots of flexibility to expand their PCIe applications, they can increase their LAN port or bandwidth, install a PCIe SSD card, or use an M.2 SSD card as a cache device to enhance their system’s performance.
