New MOU signing cements collaboration between Japan and Taiwan

Led by Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry (III), a delegation of Taiwanese networking and communication companies, dubbed “5G TEAM TAIWAN,” attended COMNEXT Tokyo from June 28 to 30, 2023 to forge connections with international companies as well as to showcase the Taiwanese companies’ capabilities in 5G. In particular, under the assistance of III, all companies in the 5G TEAM TAIWAN participated in one-on-one meetings with leading international companies to seek possibilities of future collaboration.

Witnessed by Cheng Wen-tsan, Vice Premier of Taiwan’s Executive Yuan, QCT and KYOCERA Mirai Envision Co., Ltd (KCME) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that cemented collaborations between Japan and Taiwan. According to this MOU, KCME will not only serve as a distributor for the QCT OmniPOD Sub 6 Local 5G Solution in Japan, but also work with QCT to jointly develop local 5G use cases to accelerate the digital transformation of Japanese enterprises in smart manufacturing and smart agriculture.

5G TEAM TAIWAN also exhibited a wide array of 5G solutions and 5G AIoT applications at this year’s COMNEXT, showing Taiwan is a capable and reliable partner in the global 5G supply chain. In the future, QCT and other partners in the 5G TEAM TAIWAN will continue to work with both domestic and international companies to develop new 5G applications, expand the 5G ecosystem, and bring the benefits of 5G to more verticals around the world.
