Quanta Earns Certification for Three Server Models From Newly Launched Open Compute Certification Labs

Products on demonstration this week at Open Compute Summit.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – January 28, 2014 – Three server models from Quanta QCT have earned certification from the two newly launched certification labs supporting the Open Compute Project. Quanta QCT, the leading provider of server, storage and network products for cloud datacenters, will demonstrate the certified models in booth #B9 at the Open Compute Summit in San Jose this week.

Last October, Quanta QCT was named an OCP Solution Provider. The company’s history with the Open Compute Project stretches back to 2009, when Quanta designed server boards for Facebook in a partnership that predated formation of the Open Compute Project.

Today, Quanta QCT offers the most complete lineup of OCP-compliant products, including Rackgo X in the OCP 21-inch Open Rack standards and the conventional 19-inch form factor.

The three models now certified are:

S210-X12RS
Certified by the Open Compute Certification and Solution Laboratory at The University of Texas at San Antonio, the S210-X12RS is a 1U, 19-inch width system based on the Intel Decathlete Server Board. The product supports a high memory capacity with 24 DIMM slots, perfect for memory-intensive applications. Quanta QCT has taken a leadership role within the OCP community in productizing the Intel Decathlete platform for a variety of cloud datacenter infrastructure applications.

S215-X1M2Z
Also certified by the UTSA Open Compute Certification and Solution Laboratory, the S215-X1M2Z is a 1U, 19-inch width system based on the AMD Open 3.0 Modular Server specification, which is designed specifically for financial services workloads.

Quanta QCT is working with OCP and other financial industry partners to further develop and optimize system performance to meet evolving application workload demands for this industry.

Rackgo X F03C
Certified by the ITRI OCP Certification Testing Center in Taiwan, the Rackgo X F03C is a 2OU (Open U), three-node design based on the Intel Motherboard v2.0 (Windmill). It is based on the OCP 21-inch width Open Rack standard.
