Newest QCT Line-up Features Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v4 Processors

QCT demonstrates efficiency and performance gains in product lineup featuring the newest Intel® Xeon® processors; announces development of cluster-in-a-box server with support for Intel® SSD DC D3700 Series for dual port NVMe technology.

SAN JOSE, California // March 31, 2016 – QCT, a global datacenter solution provider, has unveiled a new lineup of server products designed to support the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v4 product family which was introduced today at the Intel Cloud Day event in San Francisco. QCT also announced plans to develop a new solution, the QuantaPlex T21SD-2U, that supports Intel dual-port NVMe SSDs.

QCT has re-introduced 14 QCT products that have been updated from the Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v3 processor family to the new v4 processor family.

  • QuantaGrid D51 series 1U and 2U single-node servers. These 1U servers include the D51B-1U, D51BP-1U, D51PS-1U, D51PC-1U and D51PH-1ULH models. 2U servers include the D51B-2U and D51BV-2U (GPU server) models.
  • Rackgo X series 21-inch OCP Open Rack Solution, including F06A and F06D compute sleds.
  • Rackgo M series based on the OCP Open Cloud Server specifications contributed by Microsoft, specifically the MC510 compute sled
  • QuantaPlex T21 and T41 series multi-node servers, including T21SR-2U (2U2N), T41S-2U (2U4N), T41SP-2U (2U4N) and T21P-4U (4U2N) storage server models.

Introduction of the Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v4 processors enables feature enhancements to the QuantaPlex series. For example, the QuantaPlex T41SP-2U now fully supports NVMe SSDs. Similarly, the QuantaPlex T21P-4U boasts enhanced networking capability to support the OCP 2.0 mezzanine, thereby increasing system I/O bandwidth and performance.

QCT engineers performed benchmark testing with server platform on the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v3 and v4 , demonstrating dramatic performance boosts with the v4 processor family. With a higher core count and more advanced 14nm process technology, the server powered by v4 processor produced an up to 27.2 percent better Java performance. In addition, the server onv4 processor demonstrated an up to 9.1 percent improvement over the v3  in memory bandwidth due to its higher frequency DDR4 2400 MHz memory support.(1)

Also today, QCT announced that a new product, the QuantaPlex T21SD-2U cluster-in-a-box server, is under development and scheduled for production in Q3This product will feature a 2U form factor with 24x 2.5” HDD bays that can support 16x SAS 12G HDD/SSD and 8x U.2 connector for both Intel dual port NVMe and SAS/SATA SSD. Features of the product include multi-path and failover, and its configuration significantly increases system IOPS for mission-critical and cache-oriented applications.

"QCT has emerged as the leading hyperscale cloud datacenter hardware brand,” said Mike Yang, general manager of QCT. “Working with Intel, we’ve delivered generations of advanced datacenter products to customers that want the advantages of hyperscale computing, consumable in off-the-shelf solutions. Now, we're bringing our customers a new era of choice, value and performance, powered by our hyperscale DNA and an exceptional engineering collaboration with Intel."
