QCT to Introduce Expanded Storage Lineup at COMPUTEX Taipei 2015

New hybrid, ultra-dense and converged storage solutions offer industry-leading processing power, capacity and patented design innovations for variety of storage applications.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — May 26, 2015 – QCT (Quanta Cloud Technology), advanced hardware and integrated systems provider to cloud datacenters worldwide, today introduced three new storage solutions designed to accommodate a wide range of storage applications, ranging from tiering, scale out cloud storage to large-scale, high-computing enterprise applications. All products are now available for delivery.

These hybrid, ultra-dense and converged storage platforms will be on display at the COMPUTEX Taipei 2015 event, June 2-6. At COMPUTEX Taipei 2015, the largest ICT exhibition in Asia, QCT will display a comprehensive line of products designed for datacenter efficiency, each specifically engineered for different datacenter workloads. Join QCT in Room 101D at the Taipei International Convention Center.

QuantaGrid D51PH-1ULH

The QuantaGrid D51PH-1ULH is a 1U hybrid, scale-out, high computing storage server designed for software defined storage (SDS), tier storage and enterprise high computing applications. It is the ideal platform for OpenStack, Ceph and Hadoop storage technologies. The QuantaGrid D51PH-1ULH is the world’s first 1U x 12 H/S HDDs + 4 H/S SSDs storage server based on the Intel® Xeon® processor E5 v3 product family. It features a flexible, hybrid platform ideal for tier storage; simple building blocks that can scale out both capacity and computing for SDS needs. It delivers optimized rack density with a 50 percent space savings. The QuantaGrid D51PH-1ULH is equipped with a flexible OCP LAN mezzanine card that supports a variety of networking options and QCT innovative architecture designed to support ultra-dense hot-swappable drives in 1U form factor, which significantly eases service headaches and improves rack air flow.

QuantaPlex T21P-4U

The QuantaPlex T21P-4U is a high density, high computing storage server based on the Intel® Xeon® processer E5 v3 product family. It supports up to 78 hard drives in 4U form factor, which provides an ideal platform for high density cloud services, archiving and backup, high computing appliances and enterprise platforms. The flexible, dual-node design of the QuantaPlex T21P-4U enables the system to be configured with varying densities. It also features screw-less HDD carriers that significantly reduce the time required to install one drive into the carrier. Additional attributes include a robust external cable management arm to support hot-swappable disks and enable non-stop business operations. The product also provides visible disk status indicators that enable service engineers to assess disk status without opening the top cover. Flexible OCP LAN mezzanine cards support a variety of networking options, and disks individually power on and off to support management of energy consumption.

QuantaPlex T21SR-2U

The QuantaPlex T21SR-2U is the new generation 2U two-node cluster-in-a-box server based on Intel® Xeon® processor E5 v3 product family. Two server nodes are clustered via a PCIe interconnection or 10Gb and sharing up to 24 disk drives in a 2U chassis. Interconnection between the server nodes is via the mid-plane, so if one server board fails, the other server board takes control and gains full access to HDD and front end host I/O, keeping the system up and running. QuantaPlex T21SR-2U uses a backup battery unit (BBU) as data vaulting solution to provide up to 120 seconds of power for each node after a power failure. It also helps software developers by backing up data in memory to local flash before a graceful shut down.

“These new products expand our storage lineup, which is already one of the most diverse in the cloud datacenter market,” said Mike Yang, general manager of QCT. “We now have a portfolio with an unprecedented level of choice, performance and cost options to meet the needs of most every enterprise and service provider.”
