FREMONT, Calif. — March 5, 2015 – QCT (Quanta Cloud Technology), advanced hardware and integrated systems provider to cloud datacenters worldwide, is preparing an array of new offerings and technology previews for the Open Compute Project (OCP) U.S. Summit on March 10-11 in San Jose, Calif.

QCT will exhibit in booth C6. Registration information available online, here. Several demonstrations and previews of QCT technologies, products and solutions will be on display, including OCP hardware offerings and cloud infrastructure and big data solutions.

OCP Hardware

QCT will showcase upgraded Rackgo X and Rackgo M rack systems that support the latest generation of Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v3 product family providing unprecedented compute performance and efficiency.

New Rackgo X products are based on the latest generation of Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v3 product family. The Rackgo X F06A delivers the highest compute density available with four nodes in a 2OU configuration. The Rackgo X F06D is a next-generation converged infrastructure solution that consolidates compute and storage tiers with up to 32 disks in an integrated system.

Rackgo M is a rack solution based on the Open CloudServer (OCS) version 2 standard contributed to the OCP by Microsoft. It shares the design concept of blade servers with MC510 compute and MS100 storage blades in any combination of your choice, all in an easy-to-use package ideally for the office and distributed enterprise environment.

Also on display will be the QuantaGrid D51B, based on the 19” Decathlete standard. It is designed especially for colocation customers who want to take advantage of OCP gear.

Technology Previews: Cloud Infrastructure and Big Data Solutions

QCT cloud infrastructure and big data solutions scale from a single server to rack level, all with software pre-installed, pre-racked and pre-cabled, verified, integrated and optimized on our most efficient hardware platforms, easy for datacenters to deploy. A technology preview of selected QCT cloud infrastructure and big data solutions will be on display at the Summit.

Hyper-Converged Infrastructure With VMware — QCT will demonstrate VMware’s EVO:RACK technology preview on its Open Compute Project (OCP) hardware. Originally unveiled at VMworld 2014, VMware’s EVO:RACK is a hyper-converged infrastructure project designed to dramatically simplify how companies buy, deploy, and operate software-defined datacenters at scale. QCT and VMware are collaborating to demonstrate the EVO:RACK technology preview to enterprise and service provider customers.

OpenStack Solution With Canonical — QCT will make the first public demonstration of its OpenStack reference architecture jointly developed with Canonical, delivering the first validated OpenStack reference architecture with high availability using QCT OCP hardware. QCT will show how easily a production grade cloud can be built and scaled out, which significantly reduces barriers to OpenStack adoption.

Storage Solution With EMC —Developed in collaboration with EMC using the company’s ScaleIO™ technology built on QCT OCP gear. The solution creates a server-based SAN to deliver elastic and scalable performance and capacity on demand.

NFV (Network Function Virtualization) Solution With Intel — Building on the Intel® Open Network Platform Server (Intel® ONP Server) reference architecture, QCT will show the QuantaGrid D51B-1U in a multi-vendor service function chain demonstration with Brocade Vyatta 5600 virtual router, F5 Big-IP virtual Application Delivery Controller, Riverbed Steelhead virtual Wide Area Network Optimization and OpenStack as an example of how QCT is embracing NFV and SDN (Software Defined Networking) technologies to serve the growing market of enterprise IT, cloud and telecom service providers who want an open, high performance platform that brings together key hardware and open source software elements for NFV and SDN. QCT believes this joint cooperation with Intel will help drive ecosystem innovation and accelerate SDN and NFV adoption.

Intel Rack Scale Architecture (RSA)

QCT advocates for the OCP Community as an important foundation to drive the next hyperscale datacenter architecture. For this reason, QCT is developing its first generation RSA aligned rack based on the 21” Open Rack standard. Please feel free to visit Intel’s booth for our latest hardware showcase at OCP summit.
