Quanta QCT Announces Total Rack Solution to Deliver Microsoft Private Cloud

TAIPEI – June 6, 2012 /PRWeb/ – Quanta QCT, a leading provider of server, storage and network equipment to datacenter customers in the United States, announced at the Computex 2012 event in Taipei an integrated rack solution for private cloud, pre-configured with the upcoming Windows Server 2012.

The product was unveiled on stage during a keynote address given by Steven Guggenheimer, corporate vice president of the OEM Division at Microsoft Corp.

The integrated rack solution will include server, storage and network equipment, as well as Windows Server and System Center software, validated under the Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track program. Fast Track validated designs let clients quickly get up and running with a pre-configured private cloud.

As customers seek more immersive experiences across a range of devices, cloud computing becomes increasingly important. To address this need along with the changing economics of IT, Microsoft has worked with hardware partners to develop the Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track program. Together with Microsoft, Quanta unveiled its next-generation Fast Track hardware that includes integrated server, storage and networking equipment. This solution accelerates a business’ time to value, while decreasing cost, complexity and risk. Microsoft private cloud solutions are built using Windows Server with Hyper-V.

“Quanta has built a reputation for design excellence focused on reducing the cost and complexity of cloud infrastructure deployment,” said Mike Yang, general manager and vice president of Quanta QCT. “Our relationship with Microsoft under the Private Cloud Fast Track program and Windows Server 2012 is the most recent example of how we are using our integrated rack solution to give our datacenter customers flexible solutions that can be implemented faster than ever.”

“Cloud computing is becoming increasingly important, not only as a way to provide consistent experiences across devices but also in how it impacts the economics and operations of IT,” Guggenheimer said. “Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track solutions highlight the new networking, compute and storage technology innovations being launched with Windows Server 2012. Working with Quanta Computers, we are pleased to showcase at Computex the next generation of their Fast Track solution that can dramatically accelerate customers’ time to value while reducing cost and risk.”

About Quanta QCT

Quanta QCT provides a comprehensive line of off-the-shelf server, storage and networking solutions to datacenter customers in the United States. Quanta QCT targets midsize and large enterprises, governments and service providers who want the engineering excellence of a global manufacturer of integrated datacenter solutions, but do not require the scale and resources of a full-service ODM. Quanta QCT is headquartered in Fremont, Calif., and its parent company is Quanta Computer, Inc., a $37 billion original design manufacturer.

Quanta QCT is the only company that delivers all of the major components of the datacenter value chain: server, storage and networking equipment design and manufacturing capability in a single, proven resource. Presently, datacenters are built with server, storage and networking equipment from different manufacturers. While the industry has adapted to this inefficiency, QCT now makes it possible for datacenters to work with a single manufacturer to verify that the solution is engineered to deliver their targeted technical and cost performance benchmarks.
