QCT Launches an Ultimate Compute and Storage Density 2-Socket Server

SAN JOSE, July 19, 2018 -  Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), a global data center solution provider, today launched an ultimate compute and storage density 2-socket server. This new QuantaGrid D52BM-2U system supports dual Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors and is ideal for software-defined storage to maximize data center efficiency.  


The QuantaGrid D52BM-2U supports flexible and scalable I/O options for a unique high performance storage server design.  The server supports up to 205W TDP processors, 16 high capacity LFF HDDs (12 in the front and 4 in the rear), and two additional 7mm SATA SSDs for boot or caching.  Also included in this design are up to 5 PCIe expansions slots and flexible configurations that can include NVMe SSDs and optional M.2 devices for OS installation.

Depending on workloads, users have different configuration considerations. Therefore, QCT has provided the above options for different requirements.

Following the serviceability options included in the entire QuantaGrid series -  removable hard drive carriers, riser brackets, tool-less dual rotor fans, and a rear drive cage make swapping components straightforward and quick with practically no downtime as technicians don’t need to spend time unscrewing components from the entire rack.
