QCT Proof of Concept Rack Available for Immediate Deployment; on Display at IDF ‘15.

SAN FRANCISCO // August 17, 2015 – QCT, the hyperscale datacenter solution leader, has extended its global experience from serving the largest cloud datacenter customers in the world to develop an Intel® Rack Scale Architecture (Intel® RSA) proof of concept rack solution based on the Open Compute specification.

Today at IDF ‘15, QCT will present its Intel® RSA progress to invited customers at the Intel® RSA Developer Summit. QCT will also showcase this solution at IDF ‘15, the Intel Developer Forum in booth# 720 and in the RSA pavilion booth# 371. The company’s proof of concept rack is an important milestone in strengthening its leadership in the hyperscale datacenter solution market.

QCT pioneered hardware based on the Open Compute Project (OCP) standard six years ago. Today, the company has the most extensive OCP product lineup. For its Intel® RSA proof of concept, QCT optimizes the open rack specification to deliver exceptional performance and increase the simplicity and efficiency of datacenter management and operations and reduce overall datacenter costs.

The QCT Intel® RSA offering is now available for immediate worldwide shipment to selected customer datacenters for proof of concept evaluations.

QCT’s Intel® RSA Design
Designed on the OCP rack specification, the QCT Intel® RSA solution brings great values to customers including energy savings, reduced service downtime, and an open design that eliminates proprietary hardware lock in. Racks are designed based on the popular Open Compute Rack with centralized power and industry-leading serviceability. In addition, centralizing fan modules greatly improves the energy efficiency of the Open Rack design.

Moving ahead of the other market players, the QCT solution features a full rack backplane design and innovative chassis manager which provides users with a resource location identifier. This gives users the ability to visualize the resource pool with one-mouse-click, bringing automation and simplicity to the balancing and optimizing of datacenter workloads.
