SAN JOSE, Calif.—April 2, 2019—Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), a global data center solution provider, today announced that its next-generation server platforms, QuantaGrid and QuantaPlex product lines, support the 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors featuring boosted performance for data center intensive workloads over the previous generation of processors.

“QCT remains committed to offering our customers the latest technologies that will aid in the processing of their most demanding data center workloads,” said Mike Yang, President of QCT. “Whether it’s critical data in the cloud, AI, databases, high-performance computing, or in-memory analytics, adding support for Intel’s 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, formerly codenamed Cascade Lake, in combination with our QuantaGrid and QuantaPlex servers provide unprecedented performance and reliability.”

QCT’s lineup of servers are highly customizable, and the debut of the 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, creates new flexible options when choosing next generation platforms. Paired with Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory, data centers can tackle a variety of modern data center workloads at scale, lowering latencies by putting data closer to the processor on nonvolatile media.  Designed to deliver memory benefits, the Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory modules are DDR4 socket compatible and can co-exist with conventional DDR4 DIMMS. In both its Memory and App Direct operating modes, QCT servers saw boosts in database performance (i.e. Apache Spark*) and overall increases in performance over the previous generation processors (over ten percent with two and four socket configurations**), proof that deploying these new technologies will create new advancements for a wide range of data center use cases, including improved analytics, database and in-memory database, artificial intelligence, high-capacity virtual machines, and more. Additionally, the technology fundamentally changes data center resiliency, taking in-memory database restart times from minutes to seconds.

“The data-centric era will require server platforms and technologies that can move, store, and process data like never before,” said Jennifer Huffstetler, vice president and general manager of Data Center Product Management and Storage at Intel.  “Our 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors and Intel Optane DC persistent memory, delivered in collaboration with innovators like QCT, are ready to rise to customers’ challenges today and tomorrow.”

In addition to the existing next generation platforms, QCT introduced their new QuantaGrid D52L-1U server.  This new addition to the QuantaGrid line-up is based on 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory, and all the modularized design concepts QCT has implemented to reduce complexity and increase serviceability.  Built to be cost efficient while remaining performance optimized, the D52L-1U features eight swappable small form factor drives in an 1U form factor to give users the flexibility to run their specialized workloads on the 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors while maximizing space savings and energy efficiency to reduce TCO.

QCT is excited to announce the commercial availability of a verified Intel® Select Solution for Visual Cloud Delivery Network (Visual CDN) in conjunction with the launch of Intel’s 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors launch Later in 2o19, QCT plans to expand their Select Solution offers to SQL and NFVI as pre-configure solutions that are ideal applications to accelerate the deployment of workload optimized data infrastructures.
